XML to SQL is a simple console application that reads an XML document, creates a 'clean copy' (i.e. no special characters or embedded quotes), and then writes the XML data tables into SQL tables. The program creates a new database using the name that you specify in the configuration file.

The syntax of the command line program is:
xml2sql.exe sourceXmlFileName.xml cleanXmlFileName.xml

Any cleanup activity is logged to a file, currently hard coded to "RemoveSpecialCharactersLog.txt".

Edit the Xml2Sql.vshost.exe.config file to modify the connection. The program looks in the <connectionStrings> section for connection information. By changing the Initial Catalog you can change the name of the database that gets created.

In the <appSettings> section, change the bulkCopyTimeout if you have Sql timeout issues.
